Every good Mother and Father wants to be sure that what they do is safe for their baby. That is why we have put together this Safety Educational News Letter. This will provide you with information that will take you directly to prominent medical web sites and will give you the answers you need.
Ultrasound has been safely used for over 35 years, encompassing three generations of women. Hundreds of clinical studies over the past 30 years across the world have been done and has not shown to cause any harm to the mother or baby. In your research, you may find it helpful to visit one of the most highly respected web sites in prenatal ultrasound written by Dr. Joseph Woo, www.ob-ultrasound.net. This site gives you over 500 links to comprehensive studies in detail regarding the safety of ultrasound. Even the potential wellness benefits of mothers using ultrasound for bonding, from improved diet to quitting smoking.
The following is an excerpt from the conclusions of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine Bioeffects committee on the safety of Ultrasound:
"Widespread clinical use over 25 years has not established any adverse effect arising from exposure to Ultrasound."
Released excerpt from the AIUM statement on the Safety of Clinical Ultrasound:
"No confirmed biological effects on patients or instrument operators caused by exposure at intensities typical of present diagnostic ultrasound instrument have ever been reported."
Dr. Joshua Copel, a Yale professor of obstetrics and gynecology and member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, agrees there is little chance of any bioeffects to the fetus or mother during a 4-D Ultrasound session as long as the Sonographer is trained and certified.

How did Sneak Preview get started?
It all began March 2004, reading an inspirational book called "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. Wendy knew by Chapter 3 that her future would be changing. By Chapter 13 the Mission Statement was birthed for Sneak Preview. By the end of the book, she was consulting with her husband along with her Pastor at Covenant Community Ministries to discuss the possibilities of Sneak Preview becoming a reality.
Wendy K. Riha RT, RDMS began training as a Radiographer in 1981 at The School of Radiologic Technology. After graduating in 1983 she went on to study Medical Ultrasound at Lee Memorial Hospital Cleveland Campus in Ft. Myers where she became Board-Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in 1986.
After working at Lee Memorial Hospital, Healthpark Hospital, and Cape Coral Hospital Ultrasound Departments, she had the opportunity to work for Dr. Charles McCurdy at Maternal Fetal Medicine where skill and knowledge became a constant goal thanks to Dr. McCurdy's teachings and expertise.
In 2001 Wendy became the office supervisor of the OB Division at Physicians Primary Care for the next 4 years. By Aug. 2004 Wendy was given the opportunity to move on and develop the Sneak Preview concept fully with the mission statement in action along with State of the Art Technology.
